I will try to keep this article short, succinct and impactful due to its purpose.

So, let’s get started🤗

On the 21st of September is the World Alzheimer’s Day!

A date that wants to raise awareness around the Alzheimer’s Disease and the significant negative impact it has, as a disease, for over 55 million people around the world that live with dementia.

Fortunately, some days ago, my very good digital — for now — friend Filippo Chisari posted on Linkedin about a special project that he is the leading figure.

A spectacular NFT-related project, named Opaleo NFT, that has philanthropy as its core principle.

The Opaleo NFT project aims to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Disease International organization (ADI), a conglomerate of associations that is doing excellent work in tackling back dementia.

ADI does that with many transforming ways, but the main are:

  • By advocating governments for dementia as a national health priority.
  • By raising raise awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease.
  • By offering care and support for people with dementia and their care partners.

ADI’s efforts need our apt and ample contribution.

And Filippo’s Opaleo NFT project is a great medium for those in the Web3 and NFT communities that want to be part of this.

The project includes a series of photographs taken by Filippo’s grandfather throughout the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, each of which will be available to purchase as an NFT (Non-Fungible Token).

Filippo’s grandfather as a traveller in various countries around the world has managed to photograph a plethora of local life scenes during these three decades!

The pictures taken exist as both digital and actual photographs.

And the great thing is that those among you who purchase a photograph will have intellectual property rights to the image.

This means that you will receive not only the NFT, but also the physical photo!

Being in the digital sphere, it is like a breath of fresh air seeing projects like Filippo’s taking shape and form, with plenty of humanitarian-driven vision involved.

On my part, what has strongly motivated me to become an Opaleo NFT Ambassador is purely my life experiences.

My own grandfather was affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and eventually died because of it, as it caused an unfortunate indirect pulmonary embolism that was difficult to treat.

And this was my grandfather Athanasios, from whom I received his name and which many of you comment many times.

I loved him so much, as he was very simple in his manners, a humble shepherd of 300 goats who was working voraciously to provide for his and our family.

Thus, this is the major motivating factor that made me to take part in Filippo’s project, to become an ambassador and be one of the main voices that support the scope and vision of the Opaleo NFT project.

And I would be glad to see more of my network here on Linkedin to show interest, ask me or Filippo more questions about the Opaleo NFT project and contribute by minting these outstanding phygital NFTs.

So, if you want to know more information about the OpaleoNFT project and ADI, see:

And on OpenSea you can already mint some photographs ahead of the the official launch of the Opaleo NFT project.

To see the collection you can press here.

You would make us happy to become part of this campaign and join our mission!
